The Mall at Johnson City Welcomes Holiday Season with Full Sleigh of Winter Activities

JOHNSON CITY, TN (Nov. 24, 2021) – The Mall at Johnson City is ready to shine for the holiday season. With a full list of holiday activities lined up, friends and families can celebrate the season in their own unique style whether that’s sipping cocoa or parading around with Santa.

“The holidays are an important time for our community to gather, celebrate our loved ones and share gratitude,” said Ashley Grindstaff, General Manager at The Mall at Johnson City. “We are proud to offer events and activities that bring people together to ignite the spirit of the season, while also supporting our local small businesses.”

Photos with Santa:

The Mall at Johnson City will once again welcome Santa to celebrate the season.  Photos with Santa will take place in the JCPenney Court from Nov. 26 – Dec. 24.  Customers are encouraged to make reservations for photos with Santa.  For a complete list of hours, pricing and reservations please visit our website here.

Small Business Saturday:

Local and small businesses serve as community staples, allowing for guests to explore and shop for unique gifts, crafts from local artisans, and handmade items. To spotlight the businesses that help make Johnson City a special place, The Mall at Johnson City invites guests to shop local on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27 and throughout the holiday season. While shopping the more than 20 small businesses The Mall at Johnson City has to offer, guests can enjoy music provided by a local DJ from noon – 3 p.m. Plus, the 100 customers will also receive a free tote with their purchase. Tree Lighting:

The Mall at Johnson City will celebrate the holiday season with music, holiday cheer and a flip of the switch to light the night. Don’t miss the Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 4 – 7 p.m. The tree lighting will be fun for the whole family thanks to live entertainment with Rollerdance Tri Cities, Griswald Chrismas Characters, Princess characters, a hot chocolate bar with free mugs, smores kits and a special Holiday music performance by The Kindest People.  For a timeline of events, please visit our website here.  

Paws & Claus:

The Mall at Johnson City wants to make sure our furry friends get everything on their holiday lists this year. Dog and cat owners are invited to mix and mingle as they get their favorite pet’s photos taken with Santa at Paws & Claus on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13  from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Pets will enjoy treats and more. 

Holiday Gift Guides:

Need a little help choosing gifts for the people in your life? The Mall at Johnson City will be sharing gift guides for your favorite pet, items for him and her, and beauty lovers. Gather inspiration and shop from the comfort of your own home from Nov. 29 to Dec. 14 by following The Mall at Johnson City on Instagram.

Kindness Campaign:  

The true spirit of the season is about kindness. In celebration of National Kindness Day on Saturday, Nov. 13 The Mall at Johnson City installed an interactive art display where guests are invited to ‘Make Kindness Stick’. Guests are invited to visit the art display located near the community vaccination center on the upper level to participate throughout the entire holiday season.
